The ACES Mentoring Programme for the 2026–2027 academic year is here! Are you ready to connect with the scientific community in Sweden and share valuable professional experiences?
At ACES, we believe this initiative helps strengthen the connections within our scientific community in Sweden while creating opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences among professionals from different scientific fields.
Whether you are looking for guidance in your career or want to support others by sharing your experience, the ACES Mentoring Programme aims to create meaningful connections that foster professional growth and collaboration.
Main goals
This mentoring programme is for you if you would like to:
- Receive guidance to continue your academic career or transition into the industry.
- Get advice from a senior professional in your field to advance or redirect your career path.
- Share your professional experience to inspire and support students and fellow professionals.
- Network with scientists in Sweden and foster new collaborations.
Who can participate?
ACES aims to connect people involved in science who are living in Sweden, including:
- Students
- Early-career researchers
- Senior researchers
- University faculty
- Industry professionals
Participants can be of any nationality, although priority will be given to Spanish participants.
The entire programme will be conducted in English to encourage international participation.
The goal is to create a platform where participants can exchange experiences, provide mutual support, and gain inspiration when navigating the often challenging decisions about their professional careers.
What does the programme involve?
Participants can register as mentors, mentees, or both by completing the registration form.
Once the application period closes, mentor–mentee pairs will be matched based on their background, career interests, and expectations, to ensure the best possible fit.
If the number of mentors is lower than the number of mentees, some applicants may not be assigned a mentor. In that case, they are encouraged to apply again in the next edition of the programme.
During the 2026–2027 academic year, each mentor–mentee pair will hold at least five meetings, either online or in person, where they will exchange experiences, insights, and professional advice.
The structure of these sessions is flexible. However, participants will receive general guidelines during the Kick-off session, which marks the official start of the programme.
