Maria Badal Tejedor


Scientific Background:Industrial PhD in Surface Chemistry applied to pharmaceutics as a collaboration between KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Novartis and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (2017), and Chemical Engineer from the University of Zaragoza (2009). After completion of her doctoral studies, Maria worked in the formulation and development of drug products for the performance of early phase clinical trials while involved in her postdoctoral research about freeze-drying of protein formulations at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (2020). Currently, she works as Associate Principal Scientist in freeze-drying at Cepheid, a company specialized in molecular diagnostics.

Goal within ACES: Maria has been a member and a contributor of ACES since the foundation of the organization with the aim of supporting an excellent initiative that connects the Swedish and Spanish scientific community giving the possibility to the Spanish scientific network to adopt the positive aspects of the Scandinavian system. She believes that ACES is a point of reference for Spanish scientists in Sweden for networking and finding guidance. Besides that, Maria thinks that ACES has a great potential to bridge academia and industry for science to be applied having a positive impact in our society, and she is committed to contribute to that.
