La coreógrafa y bailaora María del Mar Suárez, conocida artísticamente como “La Chachi”, ha revolucionado el flamenco contemporáneo fusionándolo con teatro gestual, danza contemporánea y nuevas dramaturgias. Este mes de mayo, aterriza en Estocolmo con su impactante pieza Taranto Aleatorio, acompañada por la cantaora Lola Dolores.
En esta propuesta artística, La Chachi y Lola exploran el taranto, un palo flamenco de profunda raíz y escenografía desnuda, como un diálogo entre cuerpo y voz, donde el azar se convierte en motor creativo.
Un escenario único servirá de telón de fondo: el antiguo reactor nuclear de KTH, convertido en un espacio escénico que refuerza el carácter experimental y transdisciplinar del proyecto.
Gracias a una colaboración entre ACES, la Embajada de España, y la Universidad de Sevilla, el evento también nos invita a un viaje entre arte y ciencia. A través de herramientas de inteligencia artificial, exploraremos cómo la tecnología puede ayudarnos a identificar y entender los distintos palos del flamenco.
Una experiencia única donde el arte flamenco, la performance contemporánea y la innovación científica se entrelazan.

When Flamenco meets Science – María del Mar Suárez «La Chachi» in Stockholm
Choreographer and flamenco dancer María del Mar Suárez, artistically known as “La Chachi”, has revolutionized contemporary flamenco by merging it with physical theatre, contemporary dance, and new dramaturgies.
This May, she arrives in Stockholm with her striking piece Taranto Aleatorio, joined by flamenco singer Lola Dolores.
In this artistic proposal, La Chachi and Lola explore the taranto, a flamenco style with deep roots and minimal staging, as a dialogue between body and voice, where chance becomes the creative force.
A truly unique venue sets the stage: the former nuclear reactor at KTH, now transformed into a performance space that enhances the experimental and cross-disciplinary nature of the project.
Thanks to a collaboration between ACES, the Spanish Embassy, and the University of Seville, the event also invites us on a journey between art and science. Through artificial intelligence tools, we’ll explore how technology can help identify and understand the different styles (palos) of flamenco.
A unique experience where flamenco art, contemporary performance, and scientific innovation intertwine.
