Nos enorgullece haber contribuido a la jornada educativa celebrada en el instituto de secundaria Polhemskolan de Lund, “Gemensam Språkdag: Vetenskapen talar alla språk”, organizada con motivo del Día Internacional de la Ciencia el 10 de noviembre de 2025. El evento contó con el apoyo de ACES, del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España, de la Embajada de España en Suecia y, muy especialmente, de Andrea y Noelia, así como del propio centro anfitrión.
Leire Alonso Galicia, investigadora en biomedicina; Ingrid Campo-Ruiz, arquitecta e investigadora en inteligencia artificial aplicada al entorno urbano; y David Fernández Bonet, investigador en inteligencia artificial —todos ellos desarrollando su labor científica en KTH Royal Institute of Technology— participaron en representación de ACES. Para esta jornada diseñaron y dirigieron cuatro talleres interactivos impartidos íntegramente en español, con el propósito de reforzar el uso de nuestra lengua en la comunicación científica. A través de estas actividades acercaron al aula su experiencia internacional y mostraron cómo la investigación se aplica en contextos reales.
El objetivo de la jornada fue inspirar a los jóvenes, introducirlos en los fundamentos de nuestra labor investigadora y promover la reflexión sobre su impacto social, fomentando el pensamiento crítico y el interés por las carreras científicas. También se recalcó la importancia que tiene aprender idiomas para su futuro, en este caso un futuro científico. La respuesta del alumnado fue excepcional, demostrando curiosidad, motivación y una notable capacidad para comprender conceptos avanzados.
Asimismo, esta iniciativa permitió fortalecer la colaboración con la comunidad científica francesa y alemana en el exterior, así como con el sistema educativo sueco y otras instituciones comprometidas con la divulgación científica y la cooperación internacional.
International Day of Science 2025 – Lund
We are proud to have contributed to the educational event held at Polhemskolan secondary school in Lund, “Gemensam Språkdag: Vetenskapen talar alla språk”, organised to celebrate the International Day of Science on 10 November 2025. The initiative was supported by ACES, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Spain in Sweden, and especially Andrea and Noelia, as well as the host institution.
Leire Alonso Galicia, biomedical researcher; Ingrid Campo-Ruiz, architect and researcher in responsible artificial intelligence applied to urban environments; and David Fernández Bonet, artificial intelligence researcher —all currently conducting their scientific work at KTH Royal Institute of Technology— participated on behalf of ACES. They designed and led four interactive workshops delivered entirely in Spanish, aiming to promote the use of our language in scientific communication. Through these activities, they brought their international research experience into the classroom and illustrated how scientific work is applied in real-world contexts.
The goal of the event was to inspire young students, introduce them to the foundations of our research, and encourage reflection on its social impact, fostering critical thinking and interest in scientific careers. The importance of learning languages for their future was also emphasized, in this case for a future in science. The students’ response was outstanding, showing curiosity, motivation, and an impressive ability to grasp advanced scientific concepts.
This initiative also helped strengthen collaboration with the French and German scientific communities abroad, as well as with the Swedish educational system and other institutions committed to science outreach and international cooperation.
